VillageRaise™

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 19, 2026

Introduction

VillageRaise LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is a parenting support application that provides warm, practical, non-judgmental guidance to parents. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is used.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using VillageRaise, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Enter Voluntarily

VillageRaise does not require you to create an account. However, within the app you may optionally enter:

  • Child information — name or nickname, age range, gender, and emotional maturity
  • Parent profile information — family structure, number of children, and your parenting situation
  • Parenting style preference
  • Situation descriptions — descriptions of what is happening with your child that you submit for guidance
  • Outcome notes — optional notes about how a conversation went

All of this information is entirely optional. You can use VillageRaise without entering any personal details.

Information Stored on Your Device

VillageRaise stores data locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This includes your conversation history, My Village profile data, session count, and app preferences. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Information Transmitted to Third Parties

When you submit a situation for guidance, the text you enter — along with any optional context you have provided (child age, feelings, parenting style) — is transmitted to Anthropic, PBC to generate your AI-powered response. This transmission is necessary for the app to function.

Please be aware that situation descriptions may contain sensitive personal information about your child or family. We encourage you to avoid including full names, addresses, or other identifying information in your situation descriptions.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Generate personalized parenting guidance in response to your situation
  • Personalize guidance based on your parenting style and child context
  • Store your conversation history locally on your device for your reference
  • Track your session count for freemium access management

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the service you requested.

Third Party Services

Anthropic, PBC

VillageRaise uses the Anthropic API to generate AI-powered guidance. When you submit a situation, your input is sent to Anthropic's servers to generate a response. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.

We do not store the content of your situation descriptions on our servers. Situation text is transmitted to Anthropic and the response is returned to your device.

External Resources

VillageRaise provides links to third party resources including articles, websites, and support services. These links open in an external browser. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

Payment Processing

VillageRaise offers a paid subscription tier. Payment processing is handled by a third party payment processor. We do not store your payment card information. Payment processing is governed by the payment processor's own privacy policy.

Data Storage and Security

The majority of your data is stored locally on your device in localStorage. This means:

  • Your conversation history and profile data stays on your device
  • Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will delete your locally stored data
  • We cannot access, recover, or restore locally stored data

Situation descriptions are transmitted securely over HTTPS to Anthropic's API and are not stored on VillageRaise servers.

Children's Privacy

VillageRaise is designed for use by parents and caregivers. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

While VillageRaise allows parents to enter information about their children (such as age range and first name or nickname), this information is stored locally on the parent's device and is used solely to personalize guidance for the parent.

Your Rights

Because most of your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can:

  • Delete your conversation history within the app at any time
  • Remove child profiles and parent profile information within the app
  • Clear all locally stored data by clearing your browser's localStorage
  • Stop using the app at any time — no account deletion is required

For any questions about data transmitted to Anthropic, please refer to Anthropic's privacy policy and data practices at anthropic.com/privacy.

A Note About Sensitive Information

Parenting situations can involve sensitive topics including mental health, family dynamics, behavioral challenges, and emotional wellbeing. While we have designed VillageRaise to be a safe and supportive space, please be thoughtful about the information you share.

We recommend:

  • Using general descriptions rather than full names or identifying details
  • Not including sensitive medical diagnoses or confidential information that you would not want transmitted over the internet

VillageRaise is a parenting support tool — not a medical, legal, or psychological service. Nothing in the app constitutes professional advice.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of VillageRaise after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
